Amazon Prime Video for Apple TV released, features: Apple users can now enjoy the paid subscription's contents and sports coverage

Amazon Prime Video app has been released on Apple TV on Wednesday, Dec. 6. After being announced at the recent Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), users can now watch Prime original series and movies on their devices.

Amazon Prime Video App can be used on Apple TV's third, fourth, and fifth generations. However, to use this, users should have Amazon Prime subscription for $10.99 per month or $99 per year.

"Amazon Prime Video is one of the most eagerly anticipated apps to come to Apple TV, so we're excited to bring all of that great content to customers," Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue said in a statement on Apple's website.

Aside from that, the Apple TV app also now supports live sports coverage from ESPN and NBA with partnership from the NBA and Turner Sports. On Thursday, Dec. 7, the device's users can now watch the Thursday Night Football on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Cue describes that Apple TV's Sports tab will be definitely user-friendly as it would be easier to track U.S. users' favorite teams, games, and important moments. On the other hand, the Watchlist tab could save the movies and television shows from Amazon Prime Video. This, too, can be synced across all users' Apple devices.

Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV app also supports Universal Search. Here, the streaming service's content can come up in systemwide searches. In countries that support the app, integration with Apple TV app is also included with an access to Up Next syncing and show recommendations.

"With these exciting updates, plus our growing collection of 4K HDR movies on iTunes, we continue to deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience to Apple customers," Cue continued to say. Now, Apple TV app users can watch Amazon Prime video shows like "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and movies such as "The Big Sick." The paid subscription service is going to add new contents on a regular basis.
