'Yo-Kai Watch' news: Locations of Yo-Kais in the game

After two years in the Japanese market, Nintendo has finally published the tamer-adventure game "Yo-Kai Watch" in North America, with the title going public Friday, Nov. 06. The game, developed by Level-5, is now available for North American players of the Nintendo 3DS handheld system.

With the premise of the story, observers can't help but note its similarities with another successful franchise, "Pokemon." However, although the way the story flows might be somewhat the same, the designs are very different. Each Yo-Kai is mix of both inanimate and live beings, and the story behind the Yo-Kais as mischievous spirits are part of Japanese folklore.

Meanwhile, the same with the "Pokémon" games, players must search and befriend as many Yo-Kais as possible. iDigitalTimes compiled a list of Known Yo-Kai locations for a start, depending on their ranks. The locations listed are the starting points in the game, such as Uptown Springdale, Underground Waterway, Blossom Heights, Mount Milwood, Downtown Springdale, Shopper's Row, and Breezy Hills.

In addition, "Yo-Kai Watch" also mixes the locations for both friendly and bad Yo-Kais, and players must search an area completely since more than one can be found in any location. In addition, one area in the game doesn't necessarily mean only one type of Yo-Kai is present; there are numerous Yo-Kais from the lesser up to the highest rank, which can be found in one place.

Not all the Yo-Kais are bad, however. As players choose between Katie and Nate as their characters, they encounter a vending machine in the woods, and the handheld device from the machine, along with Whisper, a Yo-Kai, allows the character to see the mostly invisible Yo-Kais, which sometimes cause troubles for humans. However, Yo-Kais can be just mischievous in their work or downright nasty and cause humans harm. Players will be tasked to rid the town of the bad Yo-Kais, with either Nate or Katie getting help from the Yo-Kais they have befriended.
