During the Milan Games Week a few weeks ago, some new gameplay footage for "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" was released and it gave everyone a glimpse of the style of combat as well as a sneak peek of the blade system.

While the locations that will be seen in the game have already been unveiled to the public via various demonstrations, this time around the gameplay footage shown during the event will look a lot more like the final game that players will see when they get their hands on it in December. Much like its predecessor "Xenoblade Chronicles," the world of Alrest looks vast and beautiful and the combat that was featured also seems fun for players to get into.

It also featured a look into the game's Blade System. The Blades are special creatures that can be brought to life when characters known as Drivers touch the core crystals. Blades provide Drivers with special powers. There are several different blades that will be available to the players in the game.

The game's developers hinted three rare blades and characters that players can run into when they play. Just like the regular blades, these rare blades will also give special powers to players. The first of the three blades is named Hotaru. The most unique attribute to Hotaru is the weapon of choice because she is expected to wield a ball while she is fighting off enemies, and Hotaru's fighting style has her utilizing a ball as well.

The second blade is named Kubira, whose attire appears to be very regal and even the weapons that he wields is fitting for someone in royalty. Kubira has an intimidating presence about him and he will not hesitate to take down anyone who will dare go against him.

The third rare blade that was introduced is named Azami. Azami has a unique quality that can border on terrifying. Beyond her presence, she also seems to be able to strike fear into the hearts of her enemies just by taking out her weapon that resembles a large handgun.

"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" will be released on Dec. 1 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
