At this point, there are over 100 game titles that underwent enhanced graphics update for the users to enjoy the Xbox One X's full potential while playing them. Recently, "Forza Horizon 3" received the necessary update so that players can experience the game in native 4K settings, GameSpot reported. Aside from the main game, the Xbox One X 4K enhancement also includes all expansion sets of "Forza Horizon 3," including the "Hot Wheels" and "Blizzard Mountain" content packs.

The visual upgrades to be expected from the "Forza Horizon 3" Xbox One X enhancement include the clear depiction of car reflections and shadows, as well as the sharper texture detail in roads and terrain surfaces. The game's developer, Playground, made the announcement regarding the 4K update through the Xbox website.

"These enhancements are all about the visuals," Playground's creative director Ralph Fulton said. "We know that our fans really value great image quality, so we've taken this opportunity to deliver that to them with this update on Xbox One X."

According to Futton, another plus factor of the Xbox One X enhancement for "Forza Horizon 3" is the combination of 4K and HDR, which is clearly evident in the dynamic time-lapse skies. The appearance of the sky is a great part of the gaming experience, and the graphics improvements on the reflections and shadows contribute to the magic.

Eurogamer mentioned that the "Forza Horizon 3" adjustment made for the Xbox One X brings the resolution to 3,840x2160 setting, which has no dynamic scaling or checkerboarding involved. Moreover, the game itself supporting native 4K resolution is a difficult thing do, given that the number of pixels from the Xbox One display setting's 1080p must be quadrupled. Still, the Xbox One X has enough GPU power to keep the same multi-sample anti-aliasing feature from the regular Xbox One version in spite of the 4K resolution.
