Nintendo and 2K Sports recently announced the release of "WWE 2K18" on Nintendo Switch. Other major features of the game were also revealed.
The wrestling game has been available on other platforms since October. However, it will be released on Nintendo's hybrid console on Dec. 6. The game has all the features from its original version, but it has improved the MyCareer mode, DLC lineup, and the expanded character creator. While other versions feature eight characters on screen, the Switch version only has six.
Gamers who ordered the physical version will get a free Kurt Angle DLC pack that features two versions of the WWE Hall of Famer. It includes his WWE "American Hero" persona (2001) and his ECW "Wrestling Machine" persona (2006). Meanwhile, those who purchased digitally will have the chance to download the free character pack until Dec. 13. In order to download the title, one needs an extra 1 GB space on the console and a microSD card with 32 GB space.
"WWE 2K18" features a variety of DLC options. It has an available Season Pass for $29.99, while gamers can purchase the Kurt Angle pack for $4.99 after Dec. 13. The Kurt Angle pack is free prior to the said date. The Cena (Nuff) pack will be available for $7.99 on the game's launch date. It will include playable characters, Batista and Rob Van Dam. There will also be two playable versions of John Cena, his ECW One Night Stand version and his WrestleMania 26 persona.
The Season Pass includes an Accelerator, Enduring Icons Pack, MyPlayer Kick Start, New Moves Pack, and NXT Generation Pack. Some add-ons that are part of the Season Pass can also be purchased individually. The Accelerator pack will be available for purchase on the game's release date for $4.99. It will give access to players to all unlockable content available at launch in the game's VC Purchasable section. This will also allow players to decide on the overall rankings and attribute levels for all playable characters.
Additionally, the Enduring Icons Pack will feature playable WWE Superstars, The Hardy Boyz and playable WWE Hall of Famers, Beth Phoenix and The Rock 'n' Roll Express. It will be available for $9.99 at a later date. The MyPlayer Kick Start pack will enable players to unlock and boost MyPlayer ratings and attributes using a 50,000 VC starting bonus. Players will also begin with 10 additional Attribute Points for MyPlayer. It can boost any Attribute tower by 10 levels or spread the upgrades throughout multiple Attribute towers. It is also priced at $9.99 on launch day.
"WWE 2K18" is the first WWE game for release on a Nintendo console in five years. The title is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
