"Vikings" season 5 episode 7 will continue the story about Bjorn Ironside's (Alexander Ludwig) return to Kattegat. Aside from that, it will also feature Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh) who is set to decide if he will trust a former enemy.

To recall, episode 6, titled "Message," showed Bjorn surviving the attack from Kassia's (Karima McAdams) troops. With the help of Halfdan (Jasper Paakkonen), the group managed to escape and go back to Kattegat. Meanwhile, Ivar is trying to establish an alliance with Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). He will start plotting an attack with Harald Finehair (Peter Franzen) for a war that will happen in two moons time.

Astrid (Josefin Asplund) was tasked to send a message to Lagertha. However, it was not easy for her since she was raped before she even reached Lagertha. Upon knowing about the attack, Lagertha planned a counter-attack with Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith). In the same episode, Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) was seen leaving Kattegat with a small group that will populate Iceland.

The next episode, which is titled "Full Moon," will feature Bjorn who finally arrives in Kattegat. After traveling for a long time, he now prepares himself to face a battle during the next full moon.

Meanwhile, Ivar continues convincing Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) to go to his side. He offers him a deal that he cannot resist. Ivar also allows Bishop to kill as many heathens as he likes as long as they belong to Lagertha's group. Since Floki is already in Iceland, Ivar does not have friends anymore. Will he become good friends with Bishop soon? Is Bishop indeed a trusted alliance?

According to reports, the upcoming episode is foundational as it sets the story while viewers figure out what will happen next. The episode is described as a "calm before the storm" since a big storm is coming to the show. Something huge will disturb the people in Kattegat, which might be seen in the show's midseason finale in episode 10.

"Vikings" season 5 episode 7 will air on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 9 p.m. ET. on the History Channel.
