Now that "Van Helsing" has just concluded, fans and viewers will be glad to know that the horror-adventure show will be returning for a third season this year.

The vampire show was picked up by Syfy for another multi-episode installment. In a recent interview with Deadline, showrunner and writer Neil LaBute shared, "I couldn't be happier to learn that Syfy has renewed Van Helsing for a Season 3 — it has been a wonderful journey thus far, but we have much more of the 'Van Helsing' saga to tell before we're through."

LaBute further teased, "The writing team has some amazing adventures planned for our cast and a few new surprises as well — expect blood to be spilled and characters to die screaming while the fate of humanity slips closer and closer to the edge of true chaos and utter darkness."

The series follows the life of the titular character, Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton), in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires roam and torment the surviving humans. The first two seasons were about Van Helsing finding her vampire daughter Dylan (Hannah Cheramy) and turning her back into a human. Now that her daughter has died, the next season will follow a different trajectory.

In the season finale, Scarlett Harker (Missy Peregrym) and her mother Ella (Jillian Fargey) embarked on their journey to find the Elder (Keith Arbuthnot) in a remote area in the mountains. They found him and wanted to kill the ancient vampire, but it turned out that he became Harker's servant since she revived him. Harker then instructed the Elder to kill Dmitri (Paul Johansson) and find Van Helsing, who was captured by a mysterious group. The Elder found her unconscious, but he revived her when he bit into her neck.

"Van Helsing" season 3 is expected to return sometime in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates as the situation unfolds.
