Another movie trailer of "Tomb Raider" reboot movie was released by Warner Bros. on Jan. 18. This is the second trailer for the upcoming action-adventure movie, and the newest clips show more of Lara Croft's personal thoughts.
The first trailer was revealed in September 2017, showing Lara Croft (played by Alicia Vikander), the main protagonist of the series, getting involved with hidden clues that his father left behind for her. It was shown in the first trailer that Croft's father has already died by the start of the movie.
While the first trailer started with action-packed scenes and breathtaking clips in an unnamed tropical island somewhere east of the Philippines, the second one provides a sneak peek into Croft's life before her deadly adventure.
The trailer starts with a scene of Lara spending time with her father Lord Richard Croft (Dominic West) as a kid. Other new details include the protagonist boxing and recklessly speeding a bike as a teenager in London.
The next parts of the trailer use recycled clips from the first one, including Croft heading toward the "middle of the Devil's Sea," boarding a fishing vessel. This is followed by a scene where she is held captive by who appears to be the main antagonist of the series, archaeologist Mathias Vogel (starred by Walton Goggins).
Vogel is a rival archaeologist of Lara's late father. The events in the second trailer hinted that Vogel is leading Trinity, an organization planning "global genocide" as revealed in the second trailer.
The good news here is that Croft is not stuck with enemies in a remote island alone. The captain of the fishing vessel from the first trailer is shown to aid Croft even through her captivity. Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu takes on the role of the caption.
The rest of the trailer shows Croft dealing with enemies using guns, bows, knives, and sheer skill. The breathtaking action scenes from the trailer are supplemented with a surprise song — "Survivor" by Destiny's Child.
The outcome of Lara Croft's death-ridden adventure is set to arrive in cinemas on March 16.
