The story of "Thor" will soon come to a close as its writer Jason Aaron and illustrator Russell Dauterman are working to end the superhero's saga.

Marvel recently teased the death of Thor with the preview arts of "The Mighty Thor" #703, "The Mighty Thor" #704, and "The Mighty Thor" #705, the penultimate issue that will lead to the end of the Marvel Legacy story arc, "The Death of the Mighty Thor."

In "The Mighty Thor" #705, Thor will be facing Mangog. This will set the stage for the narrative's ending in the upcoming "The Mighty Thor" #706 in April 2018. At the end of the saga, the future of Asgard and Jane Foster's life will be uncertain.

In the Marvel's press release, it teased that "The Mighty Thor" #705 will be the penultimate issue of the story arc, "The Death of the Mighty Thor." It even emphasized the epic showdown between Thor and Mangog that has been in the works for a number of years.

It is also said that this issue will give a very surprising ending that will change Thor's story in many different ways. However, Marvel remains tight-lipped about Jane's fate. To recall, since Aaron has been writing the story of Asgard, Jane is already battling cancer.

So every time she transforms as Thor, she is reducing the effect of her chemotherapy. Thus, aside from the epic battle with Mangog, fans might also see the end of Jane's life as a living person.

"This is it, folks! The big showdown between Thor and Mangog. The penultimate chapter of 'The Death of the Mighty Thor,'" the series editor Wil Moss revealed. It has been said that Aaron and Dauterman have been working on "The Mighty Thor" #705 for more than three years now.

Moss teased that this volume is something that fans should not miss. "You may think you know where things are going, but I promise you do not," he hinted.

"The Mighty Thor" #705 will be on sale on March 21, 2018.
