NBC series "This Is Us" will return to NBC after a six-week hiatus. Reports indicate that when the show returns, it will feature the Pearson clan come together again despite all the challenges they encounter. Like the previous episodes, fans also expect the show's season 2 midseason premiere to be a tear-jerker.

During the midseason finale, it showed Kevin (Justin Hartley) hitting rock bottom. He was still struggling for his addiction and he even ended up stealing a prescription pad from a one-night stand. He was seen reflecting on his past mistakes on a football field where he delivered a heartbreaking monologue.

As for Kate (Chrissy Metz), she will still make the audience cry after her miscarriage, which was very devastating for her. Meanwhile, Randall's (Sterling K. Brown) life was not easy as well especially when they needed to say good-bye to his foster child, Deja. This hints that there will be more drama when the show returns.

However, reports reveal that this will be the last time the Pearsons will be brought back together. Series creator Dan Fogelman told Deadline that "This Is Us" season 2 episode 11 and the rest of half of the season will be full of emotional scenes.

Fogelman said that there will be an "intense 12-minute dramatic scene between mom and the grown Pearson kids." He added that he needed to call the cast into his office because there is some serious acting that they need to do. He also teased that Kevin will be in the rehab, and the family will hash things out in a therapy session. The show creator hints that fans will see more emotional roller coaster in the remaining episodes of the series.

"This Is Us" season 2 episode 11, titled "The Fifth Wheel," will air on Jan. 9, while episode 12, titled "Clooney," is set to air on Jan. 16 on NBC.
