NBC series "This Is Us" is taking a month-long break and will return in 2018 with season 2 episode 11. It is expected to continue the story about Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) death and the struggles of Kevin, Kate, and Randall played by Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, and Sterling K. Brown, respectively.

The fall finale did not end with a cliffhanger, but it has enveloped viewers' hearts with sadness. The struggles of the Big Three were not easy to swallow. These include the pregnancy of Kate, Kevin's downhill movie career, and Randall's relationship with his foster daughter Deja.

Kevin tried to cope with some health issues, the loss of Sophie, and his alcohol addiction. But when he learned about the miscarriage of her sister Kate, Kevin set aside his own problems. The midseason finale showed Kevin in a bad state when he was arrested.

What happened to Kevin will cause a problem between him and Randall. Tess, Randall's daughter, was with him when he got arrested for DUI. The Washington Post theorizes that this incident could be Kevin's wake-up call that the show has been teasing all season.

Tessa has her own issues, too. She felt that her parents are giving more attention to their foster child, Deja, than her. This could explain her actions when she jumped into the car with a drunk Kevin.

When the show returns, it is possible that there will be a time jump. What will happen to Kevin after his arrest? Will he go to rehab to finally overcome his addiction? How will Kate cope with the death of her baby?

One thing that bothers fans until now is the death of Jack and the circumstances around it. It is possible that when "This Is Us" season 2 returns, it will focus on what happened to Jack. Fans are hoping that the show will finally reveal the cause of Jack's death.

"This Is Us" season 2 episode 11 will return on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 9:00 p.m. EST on NBC.
