Things will be tough for Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) on "The Young and the Restless" next week. The show will take a hiatus on New Year's day and will return on Jan. 2.

While Chelsea is hanging out with her kids Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) at the athletic club, something unfortunate will happen. Chelsea will be distracted with the face-off of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Abby (Melissa Ordway). The two are quarreling over Scott (Daniel Hall) after Nick (Joshua Morrow) saw them kissing during the renewal of vows of Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).

Chelsea will take her eyes off the kids as she looks at Sharon and Abby. Unfortunately, Christian will crawl off and he will get lost. Chelsea will scramble to find him, but she couldn't find him anywhere. This may mean that someone has taken Christian. She does not want to think that her son was kidnapped, but things appear this way. Without knowing what to do, Chelsea will call Nick for help.

At first, Nick will get angry at Chelsea for losing their son. But he will eventually calm down and focus on finding Christian. What if Christian was really kidnapped? Who will do such a thing to him? CelebDirtyLaundry believes that this hints at the return of Adam Newman, the father of Christian. It is possible that Adam was the one who snatched Christian since he wants to spend time with his son.

The outlet also points out that executive producer Mal Young hinted that some familiar characters will return. One character that viewers would like to see on the show is Adam. If he will indeed come back, Nick and Chelsea will surely have a big problem especially if Nick will learn the truth about Christian.

Other spoilers reveal that JT (Thad Luckinbell) will be concerned about Billy's (Jason Thompson) influence on Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu). Reed just got arrested for driving while drunk. Meanwhile, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) will settle the real score between them. Lily will be attracted to someone, which will surprise the viewers.

"The Young and the Restless" airs from Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
