In the next episode of "The Mick," Chip Pemberton (Thomas Barbusca) discovers that he was the product of an affair his mother had many years ago.

The synopsis and promotional photos for the upcoming installment titled "The Divorce" were just released recently and showed Chip, together with his sister Sabrina (Sofia Black-D'Elia) and his feisty aunt Mackenzie Murphy (Kaitlin Olson), at the prison visiting his convicted dad Christopher (Laird Macintosh). The father is in jail for embezzling millions of dollars and will not be freed anytime soon. As they talk with Christopher, he reveals that Chip is not his biological son but was the result of an affair his mother had several years ago. Upon hearing this, the young boy is distraught and clearly disturbed. Sabrina is just as surprised knowing that Chip is just her half-brother.

Murphy thinks that Christopher may be telling the truth because Chip happens to be the only one with red hair in the family. Nevertheless, the young boy is now determined to find the identity of his real father and will not allow anything to get in his way. Meanwhile, Murphy and Jimmy (Scott MacArthur) re-examine their relationship after he gets into a fight with someone on the street. The police are called in but Murphy is also there to help Jimmy get out of the situation.

In the last episode, Chip wanted to improve his ranking on the eighth grade hot list so he enlisted the help of Jimmy to make him more popular in his high school. Jimmy gave him a punch in the eye and thought that it would give the boy more credibility and move him up the ranks. The plan, however, backfired and left Chip in a worse situation.

"The Mick" season 2 episode 9 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. EST on Fox.
