At this week's PlayStation Experience, game developer Naughty Dog, along with the some of the voice cast such as Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, co-writer Halley Gross, and director Neil Druckmann discussed new bits of information about the highly-anticipated action-adventure survival horror video game, "The Last of Us: Part II."

The sequel to the popular PS4-exclusive video game "The Last of Us," "The Last of Us: Part II" takes place five years after Joel (Troy Baker) and Ellie's (Ashley Johnson) journey in the first game. And, while the first game is focused on love, the sequel's theme centers on hate, according to writer and director Druckmann.

Apparently, there will be some elements in the sequel's story that fans of the first game won't like. However, Druckmann said that even though the second game will be darker than the first one, overall, the game tells a story about "pursuing justice; the positive and the negative and the really messy grey area that can occupy that."

The second trailer for the game was released during the Paris Games Week, with a couple of new characters set to join the game's main cast. Victoria Grace plays the role of Yara, Ian Alexander plays Lev, and the unnamed woman shown to be hanged in the trailer is played by Laura Bailey.

Druckmann also mentioned that no character can relax in "The Last of Us: Part II." "With The Last of Us, no one is safe," the writer/director said.

"We want people to go into The Last of Us: Part II, especially with this theme [of hate] and what we're trying to say with this game, is knowing that no one is safe — not even these two [Joel and Ellie]."

Although Druckmann tried to avoid giving massive spoilers about the game, he did mention that most of the game's setting will take place at Seattle. Naughty Dog also revealed that they are mostly 50-60% finished with the game, with most levels already set.

New details about "The Last of Us: Part II" are coming at the E3 Conference in 2018.
