'The Bachelor' 2016 premiere: Will Ben Higgins find his match?

Ben Higgins for "The Bachelor" season 20 ABC

The journey of Ben Higgins to find true love in "The Bachelor" (2016) season 20 will officially start on Jan. 4, ABC recently announced. The new season of the series will see the debut of the software salesman as the latest leading man of the show in a two-hour special premiere episode.

ABC also released a promo for the upcoming season. "We're giving you the perfect 10," the voice-over promises, before correcting himself saying "I mean perfect Ben." One of the ladies totally agrees as she urges her fellow contestants to make a toast for "the hottest man in America."

The clip also gives a sneak peek at the ladies vying for Ben's heart in "The Bachelor" (2016) season 20. Two of the contestants are twins and want to have a group hug with Ben, who is understandably surprised to see the two come out of the same limo.

Ben never failed to make the girls giggle and giddy when they first got to see the handsome 27-year-old. "What you see is what you get," a source told E! News of the new bachelor. "What you saw on Kaitlyn's season is very much who he is: straightforward with a great sense of humor," the insider added.

For those who don't know, Ben was among the contestants of the last season of "The Bachelorette," which was Kaitlyn Bristowe's season. He made it to the final three but was sent home just before he got to propose to the bachelorette.

It wasn't a surprise that Ben was chosen to become the center of "The Bachelor" (2016) season 20. In recent years, the long-running ABC reality show has been choosing third placers in previous seasons. This is true for Chris Soules (Andi Dorfman's season), Dorfman (Juan Pablo Galavis's season) and Bristowe (Soules's season).

However, it was a surprise for Ben himself. "I never thought I'd be in that situation," he told E! News months back, adding that he is nervous to meet the ladies and date them all at once.

Join Ben in his quest to find his future wife in "The Bachelor" (2016) season 20 starting Jan. 4, 2016.
