'The Amazing Race' season 30 news: Contestants from NBA, Big Brother, and more

CBS' reality competition show, "The Amazing Race," has revealed its 30th season contenders for next year. This might have been the show's most competitive contestant combination so far, showcasing champions and winners from different areas of health and sports, and interesting TV personalities.

The picture released by "The Amazing Race" on its official Twitter account introduces the 11 super teams who will participate in its brand-new season, including former Phoenix Suns star players Cedric Ceballos and Shawn Marion. The two retired National Basketball Association (NBA) players were inspired by their former teammates to prove that they can "do things other than play basketball," according to Marion. The team wishes to be able to travel to Africa within the show and make the most out of their "Amazing Race" experience.

The show will also feature Gilbert goat yoga instructors April Gould and Sarah Williams, who operate a buzz-worthy goat yoga classes at Gould's Gilbert farm in 2016, which has become a thing since then. Other TV personalities who joined the race are Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf, "Big Brother" season 19 house guests and lovers.

The rest of the season's participating teams consist of IndyCar drivers Alex Rossi and Conor Daly, firefighters Eric and Daniel Guiffreda, ring girls Dessie Mitcheson and Kayla Fitzgerald, Yale University's Henry Zhang and Evan Lynyak, competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus, professional skiers Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak, lifeguards Lucas Bocanegra and Brittany Austin, and musicians Trevor Wadleigh and Chris Marchant.

"The Amazing Race" season 30 will premiere onWed, Jan. 3, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS, with a $1 million dollars prize at stake. The game's starting line will be set in Washington Park, New York and will immediately jump to Iceland. The players who can finish all 21 cities' quests and reach the finish line first will take home the ultimate grand prize and the title of being "The Amazing Race 30" champions.
