"The Affair" season 2 made a complete turnaround in last night's episode. Even showrunner Sarah Treem couldn't describe the intense installment, she pointed out how they "purposely broke our own mold" to set up a very different narrative moving forward.
As per Wall Street Journal, the episode did not feature the usual flash forwards that take viewers to the period after Noah's incarceration. The usual dual-perspective was ditched as the episode swung to and from each of the characters' angles.
In last night's "The Affair" season 2, Helen hooked up with Martin's surgeon Dr. Vic Ullah and Cole burned to ashes his and Luisa's beach house. A depressed Alison also welcomed baby Joanie to the world while her ex-husband partied hard before finding Whitney in the same party kissing another girl.
In the next episode of the drama, fans will fill further feel the promised phenomenal shift. In the promo for the installment, Noah confesses to his therapist that he was a "terrible, terrible bad guy" and it looks like he may be returning to Alison again, who hasn't been in the best condition after Noah abandoned her.
Before that, Noah insisted that he was faithful to his wife with his therapist trying to get the truth out of him and making him realize that he might do it again. However, Noah believes that things are now different. The synopsis teases that the writer "grapples with questions."
Meanwhile, another sneak peek at the next episode of "The Affair" season 2 sees Scotty offer "a business proposal" to Alison, who looked flustered seeing him in New York City. Scotty requests that they talk but she declines, although she eventually agrees after Scotty asks for only 10 minutes of her time.
The synopsis teases that Alison will consider a "harrowing possibility" and it looks like it has to do with Cole's brother. "The Affair" season 2 episode 10 airs Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
