Thanksgiving Day 2017 family movies, specials: 'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,' NFL games, 'Friends' marathon

Thanksgiving 2017 is fast approaching and television networks have lined up family movies to watch and kickoff the holiday season with family and friends. Check out the time, channel, and everything else for television specials and movies for Thanksgiving 2017 below. All shows listed will be in EST.

On Wednesday, Nov. 22, ABC will air "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" at 8 p.m. EST and will run for an hour. TV Guide reports that this will be one of the annual ultimate specials for the month of November. On the same day at 9 p.m. EST, NBC will air the two-hour long holiday Thanksgiving 2017 special for "Saturday Night Live" which will feature selected holiday sketches from over the years.

Although not a Thanksgiving special, behind-the-scenes moments from classic Christmas movies will be airing on Wednesday. "Lights, Camera, Christmas! Inside Holiday Movie Classics" will be hosted by Peter Billingsley and will air for an hour on ABC at 10 p.m. EST.

On Thursday, Nov. 23, big-time family Thanksgiving specials and movies will start airing. Beginning at 9 a.m. EST, NBC will televise live Macy's Thanksgiving 2017 Day Parade until noon. Aside from NBC, CBS will also air the parade live so anyone can watch it from home. Aside from Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, three big NFL games will take place on the same day. Week 12 will see the Minnesota Vikings against the Detroit Lions at 12:30 p.m. EST on FOX, the Los Angeles Chargers against the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. EST on CBS, and the New York Giants against the Washington Redskins at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC.

TBS will also be airing a mini-marathon of the classic television sitcom "Friends." The network will air all 10 Turkey Day episode from every season of the show. Refer to respective local listings for exact local time.
