Tesla Model 3 VIP viewing taking place in June before production starts in July

The first look at the production version of Tesla's Model 3 could be happening in just a few weeks, as Tesla will be hosting a private viewing of the Model 3 during the Tesla Factory VIP tour for those who won the referral promo last year.

These lucky individuals were the Tesla vehicle owners who were able to refer at least five new buyers during the fourth quarter of 2016. According to Electrek, on Saturday, April 29, the company reportedly sent invites via email, and wrote: "You are invited to attend a VIP Tesla Factory Tour, exclusively for Referral Program winners. Join us for an exciting day with fellow Tesla owners, including a factory tour, private Model 3 viewing, gourmet lunch, and a Q&A session with Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen."

The tours are said to take place on June 2 and 3, at Tesla's factory in Fermont, California. Joining the promo winners in the tour will be a few representatives from the press.

Mass production of the Model 3 is said to start in July, and since the tours are happening in June, there is a big chance the attendees will already be seeing the production version of Tesla's highly anticipated vehicle.

In other news, sightings of the Model 3 being test driven out in the open have become less than rare these days. A silver and a blue Model 3 were seen cruising on Interstate 280 in California. However, BGR reports that the vehicle was spotted not only around California but in other states as well. A black one was even seen in Cincinnati, Ohio.

According to Tesla's official website, the starting price for the Model 3 is $35,000. The vehicle is said to combine "real world range, performance, safety and spaciousness into a premium sedan that only Tesla can build."
