The long-running "Tekken" fighting video game franchise has original become quite popular not only because of its challenging player versus player combat modes but also because of its characters and their own stories.

Now, some new reports have predicted that the latest title in the franchise — "Tekken 7" — might be re-introducing some of the game's classic characters, which will reportedly include the Hong Kong super cop Lei Wulong.

The game itself has been around since March of 2015, but it was only released in Japan and only for arcade systems. It was then distributed to different territories but only to limited areas and arcades. Ever since then, gamers have been clamoring for Bandai Namco Entertainment to officially release the game for consoles.

Now that "Tekken 7" has been confirmed to be coming out for the next generation consoles and for the PC next year, the only remaining question is whether or not it will be receiving some additional content apart from what is already available in its arcade version counterpart. The game itself already contains a number of brand new characters that have never been seen before in previous games, such as fighters like Claudio, Josie, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, Gigas, Shaheen, and even Akuma from the "Street Fighter" series of fighting video games.

Bandai has also recently teased the possible inclusion of Lei Wulong, a fighter of Chinese decent that somewhat resembles the kung-fu actor, Jackie Chan. One fan had even asked the game's producer Katsuhiro Harada on the game's official Twitter page about their plans on adding Lei Wulong in the game.

The producer then responded by saying that it might be possible that they won't add the character right away, and that he may be added as a DLC character after the game is launched. The producer also confirmed that some classic characters in the franchise — like Jun Kazama, Roger Jr., and Kuma — won't be added anytime soon.

"Tekken 7" is expected to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for the PC early in 2017.
