The highly popular fighting video game sequel, "Tekken 7," and its updated arcade version, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," has been out on select arcades since 2015. However, the home console version of the ninth installment in the "Tekken" series is still nowhere to be found despite previous teasers and hints. Bandai Namco Entertainment did confirm that it was going to be releasing a console version of the game, however, there still remains to be no fixed date for its release.

For the past several months, the game's developer has been quite secretive about the game's console versions. Bandai, however, has continually been supporting the arcade version with brand new characters and updates. The reason for this has been the game's continued success in the eSports segment where it remains to be one of the most popular titles played competitively.

Now, the game's producer, Katsuhiro Harada, has revealed more details about the upcoming console version and what their plans are as far as its release is concerned. Harada was interviewed during the recently held 2016 King of Iron Fist Tournament, where he explained that they hope to see a growth in the game's community once the console version becomes available.

The producer explained that not a lot of gamers are able to get access to the game as of the moment, seeing as that the console version is currently still unavailable. Harada mentioned that he is hopeful of the game's growth and how it would be received by fans. He also explained that the console version will generally be the same game as the arcade version as they have no plans of really changing the formula people expect. They will, however, be supporting the game with additional content including new characters, a new story mode, and a gallery that allows players to catch up on each character's story so far in the previous installments.

The console versions of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" are expected to be released sometime in early 2017. It will be made available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
