Details about the upcoming "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" have been bound to secrecy. However, Mark Hamill, who plays the role of Luke Skywalker, has been continuously sharing little bits of information about the film.

Since the first teaser of the franchise's eighth installment was revealed, fans have believed that the Jedi Master would be the movie's new antagonist.

"It's time for the Jedi to end," he says in the trailer.

However, in an interview with Disney Rewards magazine (via DailyMail), the 66-year-old star revealed the truth about the rumors that he is turning to the Dark Side.

The actor acknowledged that fans were shocked to hear his statement in the movie's trailer. He then explained that what he said totally contradicts young Luke's personality, which fans used to know as optimistic and hopeful.

"It's a radical decision to drop out of everything he's ever believed in," he said.

Hamill also hinted that "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is filled with a lot of "jaw-dropping surprises" that fans should definitely watch out for.

Also, the actor added that the controversial line in the eighth movie gives a deep understanding of Luke's state of mind. Hamill hinted that what his nephew Ben Solo (Adam Driver) did under his training, which occurred between "The Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens," had a huge effect on his character that made him change.

However, in spite of the popular belief that he will turn to the Dark Side just like his father, Darth Vader, Hamill cleared that it will never happen in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

"I don't think Luke's fundamental personality has changed," he said.

The only change fans are about to see is that Luke is now older and wiser as everything he experienced has changed him into who he is now. Hamill then teased that fans won't see an evil version of Luke, but an incarnation of the character viewers will never expect to see.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is set to hit U.S. theaters on Friday, Dec. 15. Tickets are now on sale.
