It is safe to say that the official plot for "The Last Jedi" is heavily under lock and key, with very limited reveals and specific details given out as the premiere approaches. However, the international synopsis for the film revealed that one character might definitely be heading down the dark side of the Force.

The latest TV spot teased a face-off between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). "That Hashtag Show" revealed the Japanese plot synopsis for the upcoming installment, seemingly implying that both Rey and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are in a force flux, with Rey in danger of being driven down the dark side. The Japanese synopsis is as follows:

"The Light, the Darkness. Rey and Kylo Ren - two people who seem to move between the two. A new shocking development is hinted to await them in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." What awaits Rey and Kylo Ren is the question of "The Light or the Darkness?" as together they are tossed and moved by the powerful Force. Rey who awakens the Force in the previous film, carries a sense of being lost and unsure. Will she be taken away by the darkness?"

While it hints that Rey might be in trouble when it comes to picking which side of the Force she will be on, it definitely puts her and Kylo Ren front and center. They are positioned as the two sides to the same coin, but will Rey really turn to the Dark side? It also poses the question of Kylo Ren as well. Will he choose to turn to the Light after being in the Dark for some time?

The recent trailer for "The Last Jedi" as well as its very first teaser has fans wondering whether or not Luke has crossed over to the Dark side during his absence. He did utter that it is time for the Jedi to end, which led fans to believe that he too decided to go down the same path as his father Darth Vader once treaded on. However, Hamill has revealed just how far Luke is in the Dark side in the upcoming installment.

In an interview, Hamill revealed that in "The Force Awakens," Luke has lost his confidence in his ability to make good choices and that it haunted him greatly. However, that does not mean that he has gone to the Dark side. Hamill went on to say that this was not an evil version of the Jedi master, but it was still a take of the character that he had never expected. He added that it brought him out of his comfort zone and that it was a real challenge to convey.

"Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi" will premiere on Dec. 15.
