Tough choices and rescue missions were made this week on the fourth and final season of "Star Wars Rebels." The next two episodes that will air next week has the main characters on another mission that involves the Empire's secret weapon.

Episodes 3 and 4 of "Star Wars Rebels" season 4 are titled "In the Name of the Rebellion," and part one reveals that Ezra and the rest of the Ghost crew, being members of the Rebel Alliance, have to accept a mission that involves spying on an Imperial outpost. Even though they would really rather destroy that same outpost, they cannot, at least not yet.

Part two of the "In the Name of the Rebellion" reveals that Ezra and Sabine join in on Saw Gerrera's mission to track down the super-secret weapon of the Empire. This happens after Ezra and Sabine get separated from Hera and Kana.

Meanwhile, there were rumors circulating on the internet regarding a certain big bad villain in the Star Wars universe. It was rumored that Emperor Palpatine would not be featured in "Star Wars Rebels" season 4. Recently, that rumor has been put to rest as showrunner Dave Filoni has confirmed that Palpatine will not be appearing in the series.

Filoni confirmed this news at the Fan Expo 2017 event, according to "Star Wars Underworld's" Benjamin Hart, who shared the news on Twitter.

With this in mind, it does make sense to have Palpatine get involved in a battle between the Empire and the rebellion. Knowing where "Star Wars Rebels" is on the timeline, the rebellion against the Empire is not as open and public yet. Plus, the Empire has their best generals and soldiers placed front and center for this kind of encounter so the Emperor probably is not that worried about the possibility of the rebellion growing exponentially in numbers – just yet.

"Star Wars Rebels" season 4 airs on Mondays at 12:30 a.m. EDT on Disney XD.
