Multinational consumer electronics corporation Best Buy has announced in a press release that it will sell the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic Edition in limited quantities on Saturday, Nov. 25 starting 9 a.m. local time.

Best Buy adds that they will sell the console on a first-come first-served basis, and will pass out as many tickets as there are systems available in stores across the U.S.

Nintendo launched the SNES Classic back in September, and Polygon reports that it was not hard to get hold of the console at launch as it was for its predecessor, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Classic Edition. Additionally, the SNES Classic has not been regular in stock since its launch, which is most likely the reason why Best Buy is making a big deal out of getting more stock. The console is not expected to bear any Black Friday or Cyber Monday-like deals and will sell at $79.99 with 21 preinstalled games.

The SNES Classic Edition bundle includes an HDMI cable which can be used to plug into any HD television. It also comes with two controllers and is compatible with NES Classic controllers.

Some games included in the 21 preinstalled titles are "Super Mario World," "Super Mario Kart," "Super Metroid," and even the previously unreleased "Star Fox 2." Stocks are expected to run out quickly, so buyers better get to the nearest Best Buy early on Saturday for those who want to get their hands on the SNES Classic in time for the holiday season.

If buyers miss out on Saturday, the SNES Classic will also be available on Toys 'R' Us shelves on Nov. 27, when the company the plans to have a restock of the console of its own. Otherwise, buyers can still acquire the classic system from a scalper on eBay for a much higher retail price.
