Selena Gomez' mom 'not happy' about daughter's relationship with Justin Bieber, tension ensues

Selena Gomez, with her recent kidney transplant and battle against lupus, has also just gotten back together with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

However, Gomez' family, specifically her mother Mandy Teefey, seems displeased with this news. Last December 2017, shortly after Gomez and Bieber got back together, Teefey was reported to have been hospitalized.

Both Gomez's lupus disease and Teefey's recent comments have sparked a debate among fans and social media followers alike, on whether getting back together with the Canadian pop superstar was a good idea.

"It was likely the result of a culmination of stress of the holidays, the anniversary of her miscarriage and the stress of Justin and Selena getting serious," Teefey claimed in an interview with Gossip Cop.

In addition to this, there have also been reports about the rift between Gomez and Teefey which the latter simply brushed off.

"Every mother and daughter has disagreements," she added in her interview. This, despite news that the two have "unfollowed" each other on Instagram.

According to inside sources of ET Online, Teefey simply does not want Gomez's progress physically and emotionally to "unravel if things went south," knowing what the actress had gone through after her break up with Bieber years ago.

Even though she shared that she is "not happy" about her daughter's reunion with Bieber, Teefey ended the interview with "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy. She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."

In contrast to this, Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, seems to approve of the two celebrities' relationship which she further expressed in an interview with the People Magazine last December 2017.

"I don't know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn't share a whole lot, but I love her," Malette said.

Gomez and Bieber have not released any comments nor statements at all regarding the issues.
