Samsung has recently announced their latest smartwatch offering, the Samsung Gear S3. However, the company has not yet revealed exactly when they would be making it available to the public. Fortunately, some new reports are now speculating that the device could be coming very soon. The Samsung Gear S3 could even be on store shelves as early as October.
The brand new smartwatch from the South Korean tech giant is certainly a very capable device compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Gear S2. The new device will have some very unique capabilities, including the ability to connect to high-speed LTE networks, built-in GPS, and other functions that normally would require other smartwatches to connect to a smartphone.
Samsung is offering the Gear S3 in two distinct variants, the S3 Classic and the S3 Frontier. The Frontier model has been designed to be more rugged in its overall look and feel. It is also the variant between the two that has the LTE connectivity feature.
On the other hand, the Classic has a more standard steel watch feel with two protruding buttons beside it. Both watches features a Dual Core Exynos 1GHz CPU running on the Tizen operating system.
Samsung has also reiterated that the S3 is not meant to replace its predecessor and will instead be marketed beside it. The S3 is quite hefty and is an overall big watch compared to the S2. The new S3 contains all of the standard sensors for a smartwatch including a pedometer, a heart rate sensor, a gyro meter, and an accelerometer.
For those who are looking for a much lighter and smaller device, the S2 will be a better option.
A recent report has revealed that the watch will be sold for €399 in Europe, which means that it could go for somewhere around $445 in North America. Despite the lack of a confirmed release date, a majority of reports have pegged the new smartwatch to be available sometime next month.
