While Samsung has not revealed any concrete details about the "Samsung Galaxy X," recent speculations give everyone something to be excited about.
The multinational South Korean corporation announced the production and design of an upcoming smartphone, dubbed as the Galaxy X, last 2017. This is presumed to be a move that would rival Apple's very own iPhone X.
The latest Samsung Galaxy X trailers unveiled key concept designs that fueled more rumors surrounding the product.
Perhaps, the biggest game changer that Samsung revealed is the smartphone's foldable, two-in-one design. Particularly, the Galaxy X can be "unfolded" and changed into a tablet that is assumed to span around seveninches.
However, other sources point out that buyers will be given a choice in terms of tablet size. This could potentially hint two versions or more of the Galaxy X.
Besides the size, other reports on its specs include similarities with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. It was recently revealed that the project has a model number of SM-G929F, which is close to the Galaxy Edge Plus' SM-G928 code.
Much like the iPhone X, this project of Samsung is expected to have a full screen design. While this feature, along with the foldable mechanic, does not seem fitting, it is nonetheless made possible thanks to the expected use of the OLED panel.
This use of the OLED panel in the Galaxy X and Samsung's other upcoming foldable smartphones is labeled as "Samsung Project Valley."
Project Valley is where most of the speculations are coming from, particularly regarding the release date, availability, and price of Samsung's new smartphone.
For instance, there are reports fromSamMobile.com that Project Valley will be limited to a few countries in its initial stages. These countries are France, Germany, United Kingdom, South Korea, Poland, and the Nordic countries.
Of course, the supply of the upcoming smartphone will greatly affect its price, something that is still unknown today. Still, Kim Dong-Jin, President of Samsung's mobile business, hinted a 2019 debut for the highly-anticipated product.
"As the head of the business, I can say our current goal is next year," he said in an interview with Bloomberg, adding, "When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product."
