Despite the numerous hints and indications that Samsung will indeed be coming out with their next generation smartphones next year, rumors still continue to proliferate claiming that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 might be cancelled altogether. The rumors previously started because of the entire exploding battery debacle on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, but now, new reports have cited an entirely different reason for the rumored cancellation.

According to the latest rumor reports, Samsung's in-house battery supplier might not be dealing with the entire Note 7 problem very well and will reportedly be backing out of their obligation to supply the company with battery packs for their upcoming new devices next year.

Reports have revealed that the battery supplier, SDI, may have received the blunt of the trauma when the entire Note 7 issue was at its peak. Samsung's reputation wasn't the only one tarnished because of the entire problem, SDI also apparently suffered because of the bad wrap it received ruining its reputation in the eyes of its current and future clients. The company reportedly lost a fifth of its subsidiary which translated to a massive loss in revenues. Being a start-up company also didn't help much in its ability to spring back from the ordeal and it looks like the company may not be able to move forward from its tragic misstep.

Some reports, however, remain positive for Samsung as the company is likely to easily recover from the crisis without any lasting issues. The company may very well turn to another supplier for its next generation smartphones, but that still remains to be seen. Consumers, on the other hand, remain to be confident in the company's ability to deliver quality products with most consumers still considering Samsung as a strong and stable brand name.
