Comic Book provided a screen shot of the supposed Amazon Mexico listing for "Red Dead Redemption 2," just in case the actual page will be taken down in the future. The publication noted that the details listed in the page appear to be legitimate. For one, the converted price of the game from Mexican Pesos to US Dollars is within the range of the usual AAA game price today.
One might also argue that the July 12 release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the listing is only a placeholder. However, placeholder dates are usually set in the last day of the month or season, like December 31st. In the case of the game's Spring 2018 release, a placeholder date would be the last day of spring this year, which is June 21. It appears that the July 12 release shown in Amazon Mexico is quite definite, and the person who have written the listing is confident about the details he provided.
Rockstar Games is expected to show a preview of "Red Dead Redemption 2" at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) this coming June, and it would make sense if the studio is actually planning to release the game a few weeks after the E3 presentation.
