After 17 years of marriage, "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Shannon Beador officially filed for divorce from David Beador.

The 53-year-old mother of three filed the divorce papers in Orange County Superior Court, California, on Dec. 1. The legal action came a month after she announced that she and the businessman intend to get separated.

Most of the couple's struggles were documented on "Real Housewives of Orange County," and followers of the show knew how terrible the couple's marriage was. There was even a time when David had an affair, although the couple survived that ordeal and renewed their vows in 2016. However, it seems that David recently made it clear that he wants out of the marriage.

An insider from E! News said that the marriage had long been a miserable one for Shannon.

"David wanted out. Shannon could not take it any longer and has decided that this is best for the kids and her health," the insider said.

While the couple decided to lead separate lives, they said that they plan to remain "partners in parenthood." They shared that they will continue to work together for the sake of their three kids, Adeline, Stella, and Sophie.

Shannon first revealed that she and David were not together anymore in a reunion episode of "Real Housewives of Orange County" season 12. In the episode, she shared how David broke the news about wanting a separation.

Shannon and the kids apparently came home from a Hawaii vacation at the time, a holiday David skipped by going back earlier than the rest of his family. It was then that David told her "We're done."

"It was just a knife in the heart," Shannon shared.

Shannon is one of the stars in the hit reality show "Real Housewives of Orange County" that airs on Bravo TV. She is joined by show regulars Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, and Meghan King Edmonds.
