Pastor and rapper Ma$e will be getting some of his music equipment back after finalising his divorce from wife Twyla Betha, while she will have custody of their children.

There had been reports earlier in the year that Ma$e was giving his marriage of 12 years another shot, but entertainment website TMZ is reporting that the divorce is now official.

TMZ said the divorce came through despite the couple recently co-authoring a marriage counselling book together entitled "What Do You Do After I Do?".

And while Twyla will reportedly be returning his rap gear, she has retained custody of the children.

Ma$e will pay $6000 in spousal and child support, the website reports, and will have "reasonable visitation" rights to spend up to three hours a day with his children as long as he gives notice 12 hours before.

The rapper - full name Mason Durell Betha - is pastor of El Elyon Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and is gearing up for the release of his fourth album in the summer, Now We Even.

He has been linked to Malayasia Pago, of Basketball Wives LA, who recently filed for divorce from husband Jannero Pargo, although she has come out to deny rumours of any romantic involvement with Ma$e.

Earlier in the year, El Elyon released a statement denying media reports that Twyla had been banned from the church because of a DUI arrest.

The church insisted: "Our hearts go out to the entire Betha family and church members. Twyla is not banned from our church and the doors of our church have and always will be open to those who desire to seek a closer relationship with God through Jesus Christ."
