'Pokémon Sun and Moon' tips, tricks and cheats: Catching a Pichu early gets players an Alona Raichu later

Alona Raichu from "Pokémon Sun and Moon" Pokemon-Sunmoon

The latest installments in the long running "Pokémon" franchise, "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon," were just released in North America last week and this week in Europe. The brand new games do not only feature brand new Pokémon creatures, but also several new changes to the core systems within the game.

Some of these changes include a new Battle Royale system, a new Poke Ride shortcut system, and other new features welcomed by most fans. However, the main goal for the game still remains the same, which is to become the best Pokémon trainer in the world. One of the ways to achieve this is to get the most powerful Pokémon early on in the game.

According to several reports, one of the most powerful Pokémon that can be found in the new game is the Alolan Raichu. The special type of Raichu, which only evolves into this form in the Alola region, is capable of both having electric and psychic abilities. The new Pokémon is also equipped with a brand new ability called Surge Surfer, which is an ability that has never been seen before in any other "Pokémon" game.

Reports have also revealed that the process of eventually getting an Alolan Raichu can be started early on in the game by immediately catching a Pichu. Pichu is the un-evolved form of Pikachu and Raichu, which can apparently be caught right at the start of the game. According to the latest tips and tricks report for the game, players can visit a patch of grass that can be found just north of the player's house at the start of the game. The patch can be reached by going to the northern part of the village, turning right after seeing the stairs, then left towards the patch of grass.

Pichu was revealed to have a 5 to 9.8 percent encounter rate, which means that players will have to be patient and walk around the patch until they see the Pokémon. A Pichu encountered in this patch will be a level 5 Pokémon that can easily be captured with an ordinary Pokéball. The Pokémon can then be evolved into Pikachu and then into Alolan Raichu after level 42 using a Thunderstone.
