A brand new update was just recently released by Niantic Labs for their highly popular augmented reality mobile game, "Pokémon Go." The update itself added a brand new feature called the "Buddy System," but fans are now looking forward to even more features that could be added to the game in future updates. According to reports, new updates down the line might include the highly awaited Generation 2 Pokémon.

Several reports have claimed that future updates may finally be adding a number of new Pokémon to the game. When Generation 2 rolls out, as many as a 100 Pokémon may be added on top of the 151 Pokémon that are already in the game. By now, the majority of the game's players probably have caught most of the Pokémon in the original list, so adding new Pokémon would be a welcome change.

As for the new Pokémon, new evolutions of existing Pokémon might be added to the Pokédex. This would include evolutions such as Bellossom, Blissey, Crobat, Slowking, Steelix, Scizor, Kingdra, Politoed, Porygon 2, and Eevee's highly requested new evolutions, Espeon and Umbreon. Several of the basic Pokémon from Generation 2 will also be added, including the starter Pokémon Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile.

Apart from the slew of new Pokémon, newer updates are also expected to include Pokémon egg hatching and baby Pokémon features. As of the moment, Niantic has not yet confirmed any of the aforementioned features, but the company did mention that they would be adding more and more features to the game further down the line.

The company also clarified that they are still pre-occupied with keeping the game's servers stable and trying to curb the rampant cheating within the game.

The latest update is now out for both the Android and iOS versions. The new update also makes installations on rooted and jailbroken phones inoperable, making it impossible to run GPS-spoofing apps.
