'Pokemon Go' Global Catch Challenge: Players get Farfetch'd within 48 hours

Farfetch'd is the reward for reaching three billion Pokemon in the "Pokemon Go" Global Catch Challenge. The Pokemon Company

During the Pokemon Global Catch Challenge, trainers all over the world managed to catch over three billion Pokemon. With that, a new reward — the ultra-rare Japan-exclusive creature Farfetch'd — was unlocked.

The Pokemon Go community worked hard to reach the three billion goal for the past six days. With the combined efforts of all trainers, Farfetch'd is now available worldwide. Players outside Japan will be able to get this creature for the first time for 48 hours. On the other hand, gamers in Japan will get the Australia-exclusive creature Kangaskhan.

According to EuroGamer, a total of three billionPokemon was achieved with the help of double XP, double Stardust, and the increase of Pokemon spawns. The duration of Lure Modules was also increased to six hours. These features will be available in the game until the end of the November.

Forbes noted that the Global Catch Challenge was the answer to what the players had been asking for — a quest. It is known that the real objective of the game is leveling up, completing the Pokedex, training Pokemon and other tasks without a clear goal. Without the sense of direction, players prefer to continue with their gaming plans.

However, with the Global Catch Challenge, everyone has one objective in mind. Another thing that makes it successful is the limited time and the short-term goal that gamers need to accomplish. At first, the three billion Pokemon target seemed like an ambitious number, but it was eventually achieved.

Farfetch'd resembles a duck. Also, in battles, this Pokemon uses either a good or bad stalk to fight off its adversaries. It has the Keen Eyes feature that prevents the accuracy of other Pokemon. It also has an Inner Focus which protects it from flinching. The creature is two feet seven inches in height and weighs 33.1 pounds. Its weakness includes rock, electric and ice. Unlike the other Pokemon, Farfetch'd does not evolve.
