'Pokemon Go' 2nd gen update: new evolutions for Eevee, Onix and 10 more Pokemons?

In the next "Pokemon Go" update, second-generation or Gen 2 Pokemon will be added to bump up the roster from 151, which many players believe is not enough.

It is not a surprise that developer Niantic Labs is bulking up the current "Pokemon Go" roster and for the Gen 2 creatures, they will pull from the "Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal."

According to Pokemon Go Informer, there are a dozen of Pokemon set to evolve in the Gen 2 update of the mega popular augmented reality game.

First off, Chansey could finally transform into its third evolution Blissey when the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update lands. Fans can evolve Horsea into its final stage evolution Kingdra as well.

Eevee, who emerged as one of the fan-favorite in "Pokemon Go" due to its powerful evolutions, Niantic is giving the adorable Pokemon some more love with two more evolutions – Espeon for its Psychic form and Umbreon for its Dark form.

"Pokemon Go" can get more out of their Zubat by evolving it to Crobat, which has higher stats. The Gen 2 update is also allowing a Bellosom evolution for Oddish.

Poliwag can evolve to Politoed while Slowpoke can slip into its final form Slowking. Scyther can become Scizor, which, battle-wise, is more of a downgrade due to its decrease in the base Speed stat.

Also, fans can have the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update to thank in transforming Onix into its far more powerful form Steelix. The update should also allow Tyrogue to become Hitmontop. Lastly, Porygon 1 becomes Porygon 2.

To prepare for the "Pokemon 2nd gen update, players should stash as much candies as they can. Some evolutions will cost more than others as fans would expect.

An evolution can be accessed for as low as 25 candies, but it can still go up to 100 or even 200. For now, there's no word on that yet so fans will have to keep playing as they wait for Niantic Labs to drop the "Pokemon Go" 2nd gen update.
