Role-playing video game "Persona 5" has been getting a lot of attention lately. But aside from the video game, "Persona 5: The Animation" has also got fans excited, while gearing up for a huge announcement.

A new teaser video of the anime was recently released on its official website. It features the main characters of the series and revealed some details about a special "Persona 5" program. The clip reveals that "Persona 5: The Animation" will go live on Dec. 24. It will also have a special program on Abema TV featuring Jun Fukuyama, Aoi Yuuki, and Souichirou Hoshi.

The anime version of the video game franchise was confirmed last August. Game developer Atlus revealed that the game will be getting an anime series in 2018 with a tagline, "The world will be stolen by them."

The cast of the upcoming animated television series was also announced wherein Jun Fukuyama will voice the Protagonist. Other cast includes Mamoru Miyano as Ryuji Sakamoto, Ikue Otani as Morgana, Nana Mizuki as Anne Takamaki, and Tomokazu Sugita as Yusuke Kitagawa. Also part of the anime are Rina Satou as Makoto Niijima, Aoi Yūki as Futaba Sakura, Haruka Tomatsu as Haru Okumura, and Sōichiro Hoshi as Goro Akechi.

To recall, the first anime of A-1 Pictures is titled "Persona 5 the Animation - The Day Breakers," which was released in September. It focused on the prologue tale about the backstory of the Phantom Thieves.

Apart from the upcoming anime, "Persona 5" also recently celebrated its 2 million sold copies of the game. It was also awarded the Best Role-Playing Game at The Game Awards 2017. The game is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 worldwide. Another good news for its fans is the availability of "Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night" and "Persona 5: Dancing Star Night" for the PS4 and PS Vita in 2018.
