If the rumors are anything to go by, OnePlus will be having another great year in 2018 with the handset maker's upcoming new flagship. The OnePlus 6 is said to be among the first few gadgets to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor, something that the users wished that the current premium smartphones have. For now, the successor to OnePlus 5T is expected to launch in the first quarter of the coming year.

The latest scoop from GizmoChina states that the OnePlus 6 will sport a fingerprint sensor embedded right under the touchscreen display. Tech firms like Samsung have always wanted to add this feature to their respective flagships, although the lack of technology prevented them from doing so this year. Although, Synaptics recently announced that it has already developed an effective under screen sensor to be placed in a handset.

It was reported that Vivo will be the first handset maker to receive Synaptics' latest in-display fingerprint reader, although it is likely that OnePlus will be getting the technology from the company as well. With this, the OnePlus 6 is believed to sport more than one biometric unlock method, as the upcoming flagship was also rumored to feature a face recognition scanner, similar with the iPhone X's Face ID system.

While the OnePlus 6 has already joined the race for the first mobile device to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor, it is believed that the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in February will be the first to showcase such smartphone. It was tipped that the OnePlus 6 will arrive in March, although there is still a chance that the handset will arrive in the market earlier than the others.

Speaking of the March 2018 unveiling of the OnePlus 6, BGR said that some people may not like this schedule as the OnePlus 5T has only been on the shelves for a few months. Even though the iterative "T" update of the OnePlus 5 has enjoyed huge sale this year, some users think that it should have arrived a bit later.
