NVIDIA's top of the line video card — the Titan X — may not really be a practical purchase for most people and would probably break the bank for the majority of PC gamers. However, the company has been known to fill in all of the gaps in the market by giving its customers different options that fit their needs and budget.
If not being able to play games in full ultra high 4K settings is an acceptable sacrifice, then the company's upcoming GeForce GTX 1050 Ti mid-range GPU might be a more practical alternative.
While the card itself hasn't been officially launched yet, images of the device have already surfaced online. Several reports have also revealed some of the new video card's specs and possible release date details. A recent post from Videocardz now reveals the alleged internals of the new graphics card as it is shown in its naked form, complete with its unattached heat sink and fan assembly.
Based on the images on the website, some hardware details were also uncovered. The card itself shows that it has a 3+1 power phase design that incorporates NVIDIA's GP107 GPU chips. It is much smaller compared to the GTX 1060 but it is still equipped with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. The card also requires a 6-pin power connector to get everything working. The particular card that was leaked on the website is reportedly one of the units from an Add-in Board (AIB) partner called Colorful.
A report from WCCFTech also reveals some other possible specs for the new GTX 1050 Ti. According to the website, the new graphics card could be sporting a total of 768 CUDA cores with a base clock of 1,318 MHz and a boosted clock of 1,380 MHz.
The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is reportedly going to be launched on Oct. 18 and will retail at about $149. Prices will, of course, vary depending on the manufacturer with overclocked chips and modified fans costing more.
