The 64-gigabyte (GB) game cards for the Nintendo Switch will be delayed big time.

According to Gamespot, a Wall Street Journal reported that Nintendo's 64 GB game cards for the Switch will not be releasing on time. Nintendo initially planned on releasing the much larger game card by the second half of 2018. Apparently, game developers have now been informed by Nintendo that the Switch cards won't be available for at least another year. The company has reportedly run into technical issues in making the cards.

This is a huge problem for Nintendo as tons of games are slated to be released for the Switch. The current memory capacity of a game card is 32 GB. To compare, Blu-ray discs used by the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles hold 50 GB of data.

This means that while more games are slated to be released for the Switch, they may be further delayed as well, especially "data-heavy" games or games that use a lot of memory.

In other news, Nintendo is currently offering discounts for their "My Nintendo" members as a holiday present.

According to Comicbook, My Nintendo members can redeem points from their accounts to avail of the discounts the company offers. By redeeming points, New Nintendo 3DS and Wii U owners can get "Earthbound" for 50 percent off at the Nintendo eShop.

Additionally, Nintendo 3DS games such as "Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword," "Metroid Prime: Federation Force," "Code Name S.T.E.A.M," and "Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past" are currently 30 percent off on the Nintendo eShop.

My Nintendo members will also receive virtual goodies starting January 2018. These goodies include a January 2018 calendar with Master Cycle Zero from "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," and "Breath of the Wild: A New Adventure" home menu theme for the 3DS.
