Nintendo's latest console, the handheld Switch, has reached a new milestone. The console is doing rather well selling over 10 million units worldwide in just nine months, despite its monster competitors Sony and Microsoft.

The figure is according to Nintendo's report to Gamespot. Nintendo tallied their sales for the first nine months of the Switch via their internal sales data. The sales tally also included their sales during "Black Friday." Nintendo was excited enough about the news that they didn't wait for the next quarterly earnings report to uncover the figures. There is, however, no sales tally yet for the month of December.

Previously, Nintendo reported at the end of September that the Switch has sold 7.63 million units. The company initially sold 2.74 million units in March when the Switch was released along with "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild." Nintendo now plans on selling 14 million more units of Switch before March 2018, the end of the current fiscal year.

Nintendo then took to their official Twitter account to celebrate their latest milestone. They uploaded a photo with references to the games released on the Switch this year.

Speaking of Nintendo Switch games, there will be several new and classic titles coming to the handheld console this 2018. Polygon reports that the triple-A game "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" will be coming to the console in 2018.

"Doom", another triple-A game was also made available for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 10. It featured a single player campaign and even an online multiplayer. However, the "SnapMap" feature of the game was removed from the Nintendo Switch version. The "SnapMap" feature on "Doom" allowed players to create and share their own maps.

The Nintendo Switch currently retails for $300 on their official site.
