With only a few months left until the premiere of 20th Century Fox's newest "X-Men" spin-off, "The New Mutants," hype for the upcoming movie is beginning to build up. A new teaser has been released, featuring Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her iconic weapons.

The new teaser was presented during the "New Mutants" panel at the recently held Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The clip features the film's five main characters: Magik, Cannonball (Charlie Heaton), Sunspot (Henry Zaga), Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams) and Mirage (Blu Hunt). All of them are in a hospital strapped to a chair and a lie detector. In an effort to get to know each other they decide to play a game, but, not all of them are willing to share their pasts.

Magik appears to be a lot more confident in sharing details of her past, which is a stark comparison to how she appeared in the first teaser trailer. She decides to start the game, revealing that her mutant powers resulted in the deaths of 18 men — one by one.

The teaser cuts to a scene of the mutant turning and her arm being covered in metal, in a similar fashion to her brother Colossus. She is then seen holding a sword that is engulfed in blue flames. In the comics, these are the character's trademark weapons, with the sword being referred to as the Soulsword.

Thinking ahead to the film's second installment, director Josh Boone teased the Comic Con Experience audience by suggesting that the sequel may be taking place in Brazil, as reported by Omega Underground.

Fans know that the New Mutants have an association with Brazil. One of their members, Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot is Brazilian, so there is a possibility that Sunspot's origins would be tackled in the sequel.

Another association that the New Mutants have with Brazil is that the Amazon rainforest is where the secluded city of Nova Roma is located. It is in that place that they meet two other mutants: Magma and Selene.

"The New Mutants" premieres on April 13. 2018.
