"New Girl" season 5 will be swarming with guest stars when it premieres, one of them being Sam Richardson from political comedy series "Veep." According to TV Line, the actor will appear in one episode of the upcoming season of the hit FOX comedy.

Richardson will play the role of "a not-particularly-bright, very clumsy police officer" who will end up working with Winston. The installment he will be in will be aired in March and it is expected to deliver a barrel of laughs.

Meanwhile, due to her pregnancy, series lead Zooey Deschanel will not be in the first five episodes of "New Girl" season 5 so Megan Fox is filling in for her. The "Transformers" star is said to make the show funnier and sexier as she makes her entrance as drop dead gorgeous pharmaceutical rep Reagan.

In fact, Hannah Simone, who plays the role of Cece in the comedy series, filmed a special scene with Fox. "In our first episode we shot together they threw us in the shower together, so we got to know each other pretty quick," the actress told E! Online.

Simone explained that this "New Girl" season 5 scene will tell the story of Cece and Reagan's past. She even teased that there's definitely a lot to be excited about this moment.

Meanwhile, it looks like the scene was such a top-secret that the male cast members were not invited during the filming. Needless to say, E! Online believes that there's a good reason for it too.

"[Simone] was not in much. I was in pajamas, but she was, I think, naked under a towel. She definitely was naked under a towel," Fox described the "New Girl" season 5 scene to the aforementioned publication.

Deschanel was in maternity leave after giving birth to her and Jacob Pechenik's first child Elsie Otter. The show will have her character Jess sequestered on jury duty to accommodate this.

"New Girl" season 5 premieres Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
