In the next episode of "'NCIS: Los Angeles," Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell), and the team investigate a series of bombings linked to terrorism.

The trailers and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Under Pressure," were released recently, and they show Hanna, Callen, Kensi Blye (Daniels Ruah), and Harley Hidoko (Andrea Bordeaux) with their guns out while approaching a hostile vicinity.

It appears that mysterious explosions are happening in and around Los Angeles. Moreover, they could be linked to terrorism, which prompts all the agents to be extra vigilant. Moments later, a huge explosion occurs that destroys a number of abandoned structures. So far, there is only one casualty, but it could increase if the perpetrator is not apprehended.

It seems that these are just warning explosions and the worst is yet to come. "Why would someone want to destroy thousands of homes and lives," Hanna asks rest of the team. The force of the blast is so powerful that it can take out a whole row of building structures.

Back at headquarters, Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) sees the footage on the monitor and tells Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith), "I sense impending mayhem." Director Shay Mosley (Nia Long) is behind them and is clearly concerned. It remains to be seen if the agents will be able to catch the deranged bomber and bring him to justice.

In the last episode, the team caught an escaped criminal who wanted to spend Christmas with his family. Callen was sensitive enough to let him say his goodbyes to his wife and son before they carted him off to prison. He did this because of the spirit of Christmas.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 9 episode 12 will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
