Next month, the action television series "NCIS: Los Angeles" returns for the 10th episode of its ninth season. In the upcoming installment titled "Forasteira," the team will hunt down a highly-skilled assassin who plans on assassinating a Brazilian diplomat to avenge her father's death.

The synopsis for the episode does not really give out the identity of the assailant, but what can be discerned from the brief summary is that the aggressor is a female. Additionally, the title "Forasteira" roughly translates to "female foreigner" in Portugese. This could be a descriptive term for the episode's antagonist, but it could also be the perception of her target, the Brazilian diplomat or someone else. The task of the team is to track the assassin down before she executes her attack against the foreign ambassador on American soil.

Aside from the mysterious synopsis for "Forasteira," another interesting fact about the episode is that Andrea Bordeaux will make another appearance as Harley Hidoko. This raises the question whether or not she will be cast until the end of the season to prolong the exposure of the charismatic tandem of Harley and Shay Mosley (Nia Long). Additionally, there has been no recent word of Hetty Lange's (Linda Hunt) return to the series. Lange will probably have to take orders from Mosley when she comes back, as per Cartermatt.

Notably, the next episode will not be the final installment of the year for "NCIS: Los Angeles," but will the 11th episode which will air on Dec. 17. Episode 11 will be a Christmas episode which has been an annual tradition held by the NCIS franchise. It aims to provide comfort for the viewer's amidst all the action in the show and celebrate the holiday season year after year.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 9 episode 10 will air on Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
