'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4' DLC news: Extra treats await Chinese fans

 Bandai Namco

Previously, Bandai Namco has confirmed that the upcoming "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will have post-launch content in the form of DLC packs. However, the publisher did not say what the expansion packs will contain.

It has been speculated that since the title is of a fighter brawler genre, the packs will contain either additional characters and/or fighter skins. Now, it seems that at least one rumor has been confirmed.

According to industry follower GearNuke, it has been discovered that some of the expansion packs will be location-based. In the report, the website claimed that Bandai Namco revealed that the copy of "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" bound for China will have an extra treat for fans – there will be traditional Chinese costumes included in the pack.

The Chinese version of the game is the only confirmed title having an extra surprise DLC. It is unknown if Bandai Namco will be launching similar expansion packs for other locations.

Meanwhile, Yibada reported that in addition to new costumes, developer CyberConnect 2 is also planning an extra adventure mode for players. This game mode will be in addition to the story progression of the title, and players can unlock extra events and skits. Also, unlike the story mode, which can have the system assign specific characters for players, the extra adventure mode will let players control which characters will be added to their ninja teams.

The extra adventure mode apparently will also have online matches similar to other fighting titles, and players can progress in their online rankings by winning matches in extra feature modes like a Special Timed Event.

"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" had initially been scheduled for a 2015 rollout. However, it will now release on Feb. 4 next year for the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as Windows PC.
