"Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord" has been in development for years now, and fans know it is going to be a big game with so many diverse cultures, or factions, as the game calls them. Recently, after revealing Vlandians faction a month ago, the game's developers have just revealed the game's latest faction called the Aserai.

As a game with cultures and factions that are very complex, developer TaleWorlds made the announcement with a long detailed post about them. Apparently, the Aserai are generally based on the tribes that were present before the seventh and eighth Islamic Conquests. Players can read everything about them from their story to their gameplay abilities on their Steam website.

As the Aserai is composed of multiple tribes, the game also reflects this by presenting different minor factions within the Aserai. Although this is not exactly new as the other factions in the game also have their own mini-factions, it just goes to show the complexity of the game.

In how they relate to the game, they are possibly the most mischievous ones as their institutions are not exactly aligned with the Bannerlord political system. That said, the detailed blog post describes them as "hard to rule and dangerous to traverse."

"Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord" has several cultures, and the Aserai tribe is only the latest addition. Given the complexity of the cultures in the game, it is not surprising that the game had an extended development period.

"Mount & Blade II: Bannerlords" is the sequel to the 2010 game "Mount & Blade: Warband." This sequel was actually announced about six years ago back in 2012. No release date or window has been mentioned, but most fans can assume it will be coming out on the latest gaming consoles.
