Telltale Games had experienced a lot of success with the release of their episodic point and clock graphic video game "Minecraft: Story Mode" last year.

However, the company is now set to increase the game's patronage by giving the series' first episode for free across all its platforms.

The game was released back in October last year and is comprised of five total episodes and three downloadable content (DLC) expansion packs. The developer's move to provide the first episode for free across all platforms is most likely a move to let interested players try out the game before committing to buy the rest of the episodes through its various Season Pass packages.

Those who want to try out the game's first episode can now download the game on the PlayStation Network, the Xbox Marketplace, Google Play, iOS App Store, the Amazon Appstore, and on the Microsoft Store.

For now the game will be available for free on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 in North America. The promo will then hit the European market shortly after.

While "Minecraft: Story Mode" Episode 1 will be free to download, the other chapters and the accompanying DLC expansion packs will still cost money.

However, to entice players to continue their story, Telltale Games is now offering the other episodes and DLCs at a discounted price. Players may also purchase all of the episodes and the DLCs through a Season Pass package which will include the Season Pass Deluxe, the Adventure Pass, and the Complete Adventure pack.

The Complete Adventure Pass will include all of the episodes and the three DLC expansion packs and will be priced at $29.99. The pass is now currently available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One.

PC players will, however, have to wait as the pass currently still has no fixed release date for the Windows compatible version of the game.
