Microsoft has yet to announce any details regarding their highly anticipated new 2-in-1 laptop PC, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, and it seems like they really don't have any plans to do that anytime soon. Due to the lack of updates regarding the company's upcoming product, several rumors have now surfaced, with a particular one now claiming that the device may be coming with two operating system options.
The highly awaited device was previously expected to appear at Microsoft's big Launch event held last month. Unfortunately, the company hasn't really mentioned anything about the device. This then led to speculations regarding Microsoft possibly delaying the launch of the device to sometime in 2017. There are, of course, various possible reasons for the delay which includes the apparent delay in the development of the company's own Windows 10 update, dubbed the Redstone 2 update.
With regards to the device's operating system, there are now some rumors that the device could be offered with an additional operating system option. Microsoft could be offering a separate variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 which might run an Android operating system. Of course, the likelihood of this happening is yet to be determined and it still remains to be seen if Microsoft would indeed consider this option for its consumers.
As for the rumored specs for the device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be sporting Intel's latest generation Kaby Lake processor. The implementation of the new generation chip is even claimed to be one of the reasons why the release of the device has been delayed. Intel's new processor will not only boost the device's performance significantly, but it also serves to solve the device's battery problem which has plagued its predecessor. Other rumored specs for the device includes a fully rechargeable Surface Pen, which can simply be charged by docking it into the device similar to that of the Apple Pencil.
