Microsoft has just recently announced that it will be holding a big Windows 10 event later this month.
While the company didn't really specify what it was going to be launching during the event, several reports have now predicted that the highly anticipated 2-in-1 tablet computer — the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 — could be one of them.
According to several unconfirmed reports, it might be possible for Microsoft to finally unveil the long-awaited follow-up to the relatively successful Surface Pro 4 device later this month. However, if this would indeed be the case, then the Surface Pro 5 would likely not be coming with Intel's latest Kaby Lake processors. This is why some reports are more hard pressed to speculate of a possible release this month.
A previously uncovered photo had revealed that Microsoft had a specific timeline of releases for their Surface line of products, which will range from 2016 to 2017. At least one device is expected to be launched in 2016, while three others are planned for 2017.
While the Surface Pro 5 tablet might not be launched this year, at least one Surface device is coming out before the year ends.
A report has speculated that Microsoft may be presenting an upgrade to the Surface Pro 4 or the Surface Book 2 during the event later this month. It might also be possible that the company would be unveiling an entirely new all-in-one Surface desktop as well.
As of the moment, a majority of the rumors are still clinging to a possible 2017 release date for the Surface Pro 5. That is if Microsoft is still adamant in having a Kaby Lake processor and its latest Windows 10 Redstone 2 update installed on the device when it is released.
The recently announced Windows 10 event is scheduled to be held in New York City a few weeks from now on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
